We have been washing our hair since we were small children. It is just part of our routine that can easily become more robotic than therapeutic… wet hair, plop shampoo on hair, scrub hair for 15 seconds, rinse hair, condition hair, rinse hair, towel dry hair with all of the frustration and vigor of the morning, and we are finished.
For most of us, washing our hair has now become just one more task that we must do to get ready. How many of us have gone to our dentist only to be told that the 30 second quick and vigorous brush in the exact same direction the exact same way every day that we do to our teeth is actually harming our teeth and our gums?
Well, unfortunately, we do not have a “hair doctor” to keep an eye on the healthiness of our hair and scalp to tell us the same with how we shampoo. Believe it or not, there is a way to wash hair properly for quicker hair growth. If you learn how to wash hair correctly, you can cleanse your hair and your scalp without stripping them and add nourishment to your hair and scalp that will help your hair grow faster.
Why Ingredients Matter In Shampoo
First and foremost, the right ingredients are key. Hair thirsts for nourishment and finding the right ingredients in a shampoo can effectively cleanse your hair without stripping it of its natural oils. When searching for a shampoo, look for one that is gentle cleansing, moisturizing, and contains wonderful ingredients like botanicals, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to help quench hair’s thirst.
The amino acids are especially beneficial because they help your hair, hair follicles, and your scalp to be healthy and to encourage faster growing hair.
How to Wash Your Hair
Once you have wet your hair, pour a small amount of shampoo into your hand instead of on your head.
Then, distribute evenly between both hands and start…gently… on your scalp at the top of your head. Massage with fingertips… NOT fingernails… over your entire scalp making sure to cover every inch, including the back of your head and the nape of your neck. Effectively massaging the entire scalp will deposit hair growth nutrients on your roots and remove any build-up that could be clogging hair follicles.
Once you feel that you have effective cleansed your entire scalp, you can now focus on your hair. Simply circulate the shampoo already in your hair throughout your hair to completely cover it.
It is very important to allow the shampoo to sit in the scalp and hair for a few minutes. This lets your hair follicles absorb the vitamins, minerals, and amino acids in the shampoo so that your hair can grow at a quicker rate.
After about 3 – 5 minutes, you can rinse the shampoo out of your hair. Your hair and scalp must be rinsed thoroughly to get rid of all of the dirt, debris, dead skin cells, and shampoo. Please rinse your hair until you see the water become completely clear. This will ensure that all of the product is out of your hair.
If we want our hair to be better, stronger, healthier, and more beautiful than it is, we must change how we treat it. Learning how to wash your hair correctly will truly cleanse your scalp and hair, protect the essential oils, stimulate quicker hair growth, and nourish your hair and scalp with the perfect ingredients to help your hair to thrive and to grow faster and healthier!
